PTRs vs Real Life

I've put most of my PTRs on hold. The reason for this is simple. In terms of monetary rewards, it is minimal. In terms of effort, it is highly time-consuming. A typical PTR clicker can earn perhaps USD 10 per month without referrals. Building up a referral base is no easy task, and once you've achieved a sizeable referral network, there's no guarantee that your referrals will remain active. Then, there's the worry that the PTR site could shut down without any warning.

A full-time job would surely earn more than you could earn with PTR. But, the general idea is that you can click a few links, while doing other things online. If you can earn a few bucks for just a few (thousand) extra mouse clicks, would you do it?

So why join PTRs?
PTRs offer the average Joe the chance to see how affiliate marketing works. The real earnings from PTRs comes from having an active downline. Assuming 10% earnings from your referrals, having 10 referrals means that you double your potential earnings from PTR.
PTRs offer a low cost means to advertise your website and services. The sites normally promoted on PTRs are search engine sites and other PTRs. Some people even use PTRs to promote their eBay items for sale!
Others like the idea of earning money during their free time.

Unless you live in a country where $1 USD can feed your family for a week, I do think that your time can be used more productively doing other things. That being said, I still click a few links every now and then... but I restrict it to a few PTRs that have a good track record, and relatively low activity requirements... namely...

Please read this, you will be excited. When you click this link, http://www.cashcrate.com/192904 you will sign up for a website that pays you 2 - 45$ (PER) to do surveys, sign up for trial offers, and test products.
Companies such as ebay pay cashcrate to have people try their offers, and when you complete an offer, cashcrate simply passes the money onto you. By spending an average of 3-4 hours a week on cascrate,
I have made 472$ in May, 412$ in June, and 271$ (SO FAR) in July. You get paid in real checks from "KINGSIDE MEDIA" every month that you earn 10 dollars or more. It may seem too good to be true,
but I assure you it IS true. Also, with their referral program, you can refer people by sending them your link (you get when you sign up) and for every buck they earn, you get 20 cents also! (Think how much money you can make if you have 100 people making five bucks a day)
You do not have to enter your credit card or social security number. Nothing Harmful can come from cashcrate. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE 18 OR OLDER, I AM 15 YEARS OLD AND REFERRING PEOPLE, AND I MAKE THIS MUCH MONEY A MONTH
JUST SPENDING A COUPLE MINUTES A DAY ON THE COMPUTER! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR READING THIS.
Think it's a scam? Read this(from the website) "We assure you that this is not a scam! Companies need consumers to try and review products, services, and websites and are willing to pay money to have them do so.
Most of the time you're asked to do this without any compensation, what we do is take the money companies give us for YOUR participation, and give you back up to 75% of it!"
There are alot of websites like this, I have tried almost all of them and this really is the best, and legit one.In addition there is a new UK section opened with more then $200 worth of free offers!

You know you're totally right and I might be cutting out some of my PTR activities... you're post just kind of crystalized the choice for me! It's more of a hobby than anything... I've been with No-Minimum for some time now and DO have some referrals. However, there's an activity requirement that doesn't let them earn on auto-pilot. You have great info and I'm definitely going to keep reading.

Thanks for the Recourse! Regards,
Jordan

You have a better chance of making more money starting your own GPT site rather than being a user of one. I made a free script for just that purpose :) Feel free to download it at my website http://www.getpaidscene.com

Yes, PTCs/PTRs are very pointless. I honestly don't know how they continue to remain popular. They yield hardly any results and it takes tons of effort to really pull even a monthly payment from them. If you're going to do GPTs, paid offers/surveys are the only ones that really yield legit payments consistently. Even that is limited though. While there are a lot of options for earning online, a lot of them really require entrepreneurship ideas and motivations, rather than looking for a quick buck (which is most people). :P Tough situation.

I have made over 400 dollars this month and only did about 12 hours of "work".

This is a great site to fill surveys on! They always pay each month, and the offers are worth so much!

You'll get a $5 sign up bonus for using this link! How awesome is that?! haha
